My romantasy addiction has been left unchecked.
PLUS a groovy new home, a very sexy podcast recommendation, the theory that we can't stop talking about and a very important political debrief. Enjoy!
Hiii Outlouders, Em Vernem here šš¾āāļø
Iām addicted to smut. So, I got into the ACOTAR series and as most of you who saw my post in the Outlouders group know, I decided to recap the first book (A Court of Thorns and Roses).
Romantasy is everywhere right now and I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Well, I have a confession. And I havenāt told anyone else this so please keep it to yourselfā¦
I ended up reading the 2nd, 3rd and 4th books IN ONE DAY.
After finishing the first book, I woke up early on Sunday morning.
I looked at the clock and saw that it was 6.30am and thought āHmm, before I get out of bed Iāll just read a few pages of the second book.ā
Then, after an hour, I looked back at the clock and it was 1am and I was up to the 5th and final book of the series.
I was very happy that Out Loud talked about romantasy on Wednesdayās episode, and then became even more happy when I found out that MIA FREEDMAN is going to be getting into the genre.
She asked the Facebook group where she should start and I want her to start with ACOTAR but hey, Iām a newbie so Iāll leave it up to the experts.
Tell us in the comments what you think Miaās first romantasy book should be.
š§Listen to Wednesdayās show. Smutty talk starts at the 20:10 mark.
š If I may, you can also read my recap of the first ACOTAR book (I am not okay).

"Are You a Charlotte?" by Kristin Davis.
āKristin Davis, who everybody knows, plays Charlotte in Sex and the City, has just started a podcast. It's called, āAre you a Charlotte?āā Great title.
If you love, love, love Sex and the City, you are going to love it. Itās basically just her talking about how she got the job and what the audition was like. She decides she's not really even a Charlotte herself.ā
Jessie wants you to watch
Lockerbie: A Search for Truth on Binge.
āItās called Lockerbie, a search for truth. It's on Binge and 7Plus. What happened was on the 21st of December, 1988 a Pan Am flight that was going from Heathrow to New York exploded over a small town in Scotland called Lockerbie. It's a drama... really beautifully made drama, and in fact, it's this new genre of drama, which is almost like a documentary, so it's interspersed with real footage which is really powerful.ā
Mia wants you to watch
SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night on Binge.
āSNL is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and this documentary is in four parts. If you're not familiar with Saturday Night Live, who even are you? It's the most iconic comedy show ever made. They start the show with nothing at the beginning of the week and a guest celebrity host. And then by Saturday night, the line is that they don't put the show to air because it's ready, they put the show to air because it's time. It's so good ā it's fantastic. Really, really easy to watch.ā

Post of the week š
This simple post in the Outlouders Facebook group made me sigh with relief. My whole life I thought I was the only one who suffered from this.
This comment from Kirsten made me spit out my coffee:
āWe did massive renos to our house so I was always texting tradies. Until I sent a text to one of our tradies that was meant to say, āthank you for today. Have a lovely weekend.ā
My predict text wrote āthank you I have a lovely lady gardenā
I mean what the actual FARK is that?!?
I have never spoken to a tradie ever since.ā
